Tri-City has supported End 68 for several years thru the Share The Love campaign and this donation of over $25,000 put the total donated amount at over $150,000! For those who are not familiar with End 68 Hours of Hunger, they are a public not-for-profit effort to confront the approximately 68 hours of hunger that some school children experience between the free lunch they receive at school on Friday afternoon and the free breakfast they receive at school on Monday morning. This is a great cause because no child should go hungry!

Farm Day @ Dandelion Forest Farm

Tri City supports SELT (South East Land Trust) and Dandelion Forest Farm has SELT roots so we took to the fields to help the farmers. The mission of the day was to plant corn, beans and squash in a manner that maximizes space and complements each plant. The seedlings were arranged so as the corn stalk grows upward the beans utilize the corn stock to climb and the squash takes over the low ground. Tri City had a crew ready for the all organic mission and set to the fields making rows, spreading compost, planting seedlings and topping with mulch. We hope for rain and a strong growing season. Goodluck Dandelion Farm and thanks for letting us get our hands dirty!

Not only did they learn a new, and important skill set, but they felt truly welcome.
